The Orphanage of "Pa van der Steur"


"Think of my work, not my name"

The orphanage of Pa van der Steur was founded in 1892 by Yohanes van der Steur. It is a Social Foundation with a vision to fulfill what is written in the Holy Bible (Math. 28:19-20). The service of the Foundation of Pa van der Steur embraces the enhancement of pride and dignity while at the same time providing a better future for poor children, in the form of social, physical, mental and spiritual services. It also provides other services such as training and special skills.

The Vision of the Foundation

"To look after all children with ultimate love and care so they could grow up to be a mature person of competence, self-dependent and full of responsibility".

The Mission of the Foundation

  1. Providing the best possible education to orphans.
  2. To create God's follower, useful to the nation and country.
  3. Providing good and comfortable living facilities managed by competent caretakers.
  4. Setting a firm discipline based on Christianity.
  5. Maintaining physical and mental health of every child at all times.

The Aim of the Foundation

  1. To take care of the daily needs and the cost of education of children who come from poor families.
  2. To provide the children with religious services.
  3. To build a forth coming potential generation, both mentally and spiritually, in the community within our nation and country.
  4. To establish a cross cultural orphanage that takes care of children from various ethnics throughout Indonesia.

Characteristics of the Foundation

  1. A cross cultural organization that takes care of children from all ethnics throughout Indonesia.
  2. Taking every step that is required to make the children self-dependent.
  3. Development of the children's capabilities.
  4. Providing the opportunity for advancement to higher level of education (i.e. University, Academy) for capable children.

Eligibility

  1. Fatherless / motherless or orphans.
  2. Children from poor parents / families.
  3. Children from separated / divorced parents.
  4. Children aged between 4 to 12 years old.
  5. Never received private donation or donation from any other foundation, church or institution before.
